This Privacy Policy explains how App Shaper (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Dopamin Detox: Limit Screen Time app (“the app”). By using the app, you agree to this policy.

What stays on your device and is never sent to us

The most sensitive parts of the app are designed so that we never receive them:

• The apps and websites you block. The app uses Apple's Family Controls and DeviceActivity frameworks with individual authorization. The selections you make are stored as opaque, device-local identifiers (“tokens”). They are never transmitted, never logged, and never stored on our servers or in iCloud in a form we can read. We cannot see which apps or websites you choose.
• Your usage statistics (Insights). The numbers you see in Insights are computed and displayed on your device inside Apple's DeviceActivityReport extension. These figures do not leave your device and are not collected by us.

iCloud sync of your settings

If you use iCloud, the app syncs only your block configuration — such as block names, schedules, and modes — to your own private iCloud account (CloudKit), so your settings follow you across your devices. This lives in your personal iCloud database. App Shaper has no access to it.

Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are sold through the App Store and processed by Apple using StoreKit. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to validate your subscription status and unlock Pro features. We do not receive or store your payment card details. To manage your subscription status, RevenueCat and Apple process information such as your App Store transaction and receipt data and a pseudonymous app-user identifier. Push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting (Firebase)

The app uses Google Firebase for several functions. Through these services, some diagnostic and usage information is collected. The Firebase products integrated in the app are:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver push notifications. This uses a device push token.
• Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) — to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened and which features are used). This involves app-event data and pseudonymous identifiers such as a Firebase installation ID and an app-instance ID, along with technical data like device model, operating system version, and general region/language.
• Firebase Crashlytics — to record crashes and errors so we can fix them. Crash reports can include the device model, operating system version, the state of the app at the time of the crash, and diagnostic logs.
• Firebase Remote Config and In-App Messaging — to adjust configuration and show in-app messages without an app update.

This data is used to operate, secure, and improve the app — not to identify you personally and not for advertising. It is processed by Google as our service provider. See Firebase's privacy information and Google's privacy policy. Importantly, none of these Firebase services receive the apps or websites you block or your on-device Screen Time figures.

Advertising and tracking

The app does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. It does not request the App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).

What we collect, in summary

• Diagnostics & usage: crash logs and aggregate, pseudonymous app-usage and performance data, via Firebase, to keep the app working and improve it.
• Identifiers: a device push token (for notifications) and pseudonymous Firebase/RevenueCat identifiers (for analytics and subscription status). These are not your name and are not used to track you across other companies' services.
• Purchase data: App Store transaction/receipt information, to validate your subscription.
• Support messages: if you email us, we receive your message and email address to respond.

We do not collect your name, your contacts, your precise location for our own use, the apps/sites you block, or your Screen Time statistics.

Location

If you create a location-based block, the app uses your device location to detect when you arrive at or leave a place you chose. This is handled on your device by iOS to trigger the block. We do not collect or store your location history on our servers.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Data retention

On-device data (your selections, settings, and Insights) remains on your device until you delete a block or remove the app. Diagnostic and analytics data collected through Firebase is retained according to Google's and our configured retention settings. Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you and to keep reasonable records.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we deliberately hold very little that identifies you, the strongest control is in your hands: you can revoke Screen Time permission, turn off notifications, delete blocks, and remove the app at any time. Security

We rely on Apple's on-device protections and the security of our service providers (Apple, Google/Firebase, RevenueCat). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational measures.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
